"It'll all work out eventually, better off with him than here with me..."

The movie Bella is one of the most emotionally raw movies I have watched in a long time. The emotions trapped, ignored, being lived with and being released by the characters are immense. The main character Jose was a promising soccer player before an accident changed his life. We find him working as a chef for his brother in a New York restaurant and the drama involved with this new life. The other main character Nina is a waitress at the restaurant, recently pregnant she gets fired by Jose's brother Manny because she was late. Jose follows her out of the restaurant abandoning his brother and the story unfolds. I didn't particularly like the ending of the movie, it leaves a lot for the viewer to piece together. I have watched worse endings though and some ambiguity isn't necessarily bad. Below is a link to information about the movie.

Below is an interesting article about Muslim women living in Europe and their need to restore their virginity. Being young women living in open societies they are able to live differently than in strictly Muslim countries. This means there is a chance for the loss of their virginity prior to marriage. In Western societies this is acceptable but for many Muslim women it isn't. They are expected to remain "pure" and especially if they are to marry a Muslim man. Given no alternative these women are resorting to having their hymen's restored. I imagine it is a very tough choice between their religion, their family, their own bodies and what is seen as normal in the rest of the world. Sex should be pursued for pleasure, love, or both. Should individuals wish to enter into a relationship of a sexual nature, it should be their choice. Sex is a very normal part of life and shouldn't be restricted by religion.

Peter Pocklington is among the biggest losers in sport's history. As owner of the Edmonton Oilers he won 5 Stanley Cups but sold Wayne Gretzky off, thus limiting his team's future success. Now he is obviously in financial trouble as he recently sold his Stanley Cup rings. I cannot understand how you could work for something your entire life and taint it by making the decisions he did. Some people have more money than brains and eventually everything equals out for them. Below is an article detailing what he sold and how much he got for them.

Sticking with hockey, the "hockey song", CBC's Hockey Night In Canada theme song since 1968 was bought by CTV. This means it will be played endless on TSN before their hockey games and apparently on CTV during the 2010 Olympics. The good news for hockey fans is that we still get to hear it but not where it should be, on CBC. The CBC is in danger of letting CTV get too many hockey assets that one day the NHL will take the more money they have to offer and hockey on CBC will cease to exist.
It is a very nice day today, currently 26 with little humidity and a nice breeze. More like the weather I want for June.
Today's clips and lyrics are from Tom Petty including Listen To Her Heart, Even The Losers, and below It'll All Work Out.

I suppose it does and if doesn't, I haven't met anyone who has lived two lives.
