New York, New York by Ryan Adams.
In honour of the All-Star break in New York, above is New York, New York by the very talented Ryan Adams. Right now the Home Run Derby is on, it is always fun to watch how far and how many some of the players can hit.
Today Amalea and I went over to my grandparents (her great grandparents) for dinner. We had BBQ steak, baked potato and garden salad along with maple walnut ice cream for dessert. It was mostly overcast today and really windy, apparently the humidity is coming back tomorrow.
Last night I watched the movie Young People Fucking. It explores the relationships of 5 couples during one night. I didn't think it was a great movie but it wasn't horrible. It had some realistically funny moments and was fairly realistically in its portraying of certain relationships. The movie was made with the support (grants) from the Tele Film Canada, in other words with money from the Canadian government. There was a bit of a controversy over the making of this because of its title and content. Yes there was nudity, women's breasts and a male ass, but nothing you can't find on cable most nights. There was a scene of voyeurism, guy watching his friend having sex with his girlfriend. There was a scene of a woman with a dildo having sex with her boyfriend, they were trying to "spice" things up. I can't say this scene wasn't a turnoff for me. Having watched this movie, I think it is a movie showing the intimacy or lack of intimacy of any relationship. Each relationship is different, and especially in the bedroom. The movie isn't just about young people fucking, it is about how sex is a very important part of any relationship, and how it is important to understand your partner. I have no problem with the government of Canada giving financial support to movie makers who are trying to and succeding to varying degrees to make movies with substance. There is a link to the movie below.
