"I've been trying to get down to the heart of the matter but my will gets weak and my thoughts seem to scatter, but I think it's about..forgiveness."

Heart of the Matter by Don Henley
An article from CNN about how to forgive. It might be easy for some of us but for most of us it is more complicated than we can articulate.

I started reading an interesting book called Gateway to Oblivion (The Great Lakes' Bermuda Triangle) by Hugh Cochrane. It is an older book, published in 1980, but it is attempting to prove that there is something unexplainable out in these waters. From ships disappearing or suddenly exploding in flames to other events in the air, involving planes crashing and disappearing, also mysterious events on the land surrounding the water. It is interesting and there have been many cases of unexplainable events. Though the author goes out on a limb at times trying to make every event seem more mysterious than it might really be. It is a good companion to my usual collection of serious books.

I wrote the following tonight while having tea in Williams, waiting for the daylight to completely fade.
Forgiving Anybody Is Hard For Some
I am a solitary man
The years have made me so
A singular reason does not exist
The multitudes of them equal one
Time will continue to add them up
Until I have lived and died
Measured differently with perspective
Each of us having our own
Based on individual circumstances
Places we have called home and left
Countries spanning the globe
Cultures slightly different or absolutely
There is no denying our biases
Bone holds secrets and skin remembers
A lover, a mother or a stranger
Each with their own comfort level
Forgiving anybody is hard for some
We keep everything tied too tight
Preventing the blood from circulating
Clotting our words and silencing them
Rending us more than useless
When it comes to comforting someone
Their pain is too much our own
Identical in its agonizing composition
A story of fact without fictional characters
Easily remembered faces and mannerisms
Put aside but never completely misplaced
Nothing seems like it can ever really be
I am a keeper of miscellaneous information
Pointless observations about never lasting moments
Colourful sunsets reflected in a woman’s green eyes
The Lily of the Valley lingering on a woman’s skin
Such beautiful thoughts on such an ordinary night
With light fleeting but really nothing else arriving
I would be oblivious to almost anything
Unless it tapped me on the shoulder like a friend
So distant are my introspective meanderings tonight
There is little rhyme and once again no reason
Time will continue and add us all up
After we have lived and died.

So Barack Obama has chosen Joe Biden as his Vice President nominee, I think it is a good solid choice. The ball is in McCain's court now, let the game really begin. Too bad for Obama that they aren't playing basketball.
Enjoy your Saturday night.
